We spent New Year’s in San Miguel and it was a lot of fun. They had their own version of Times Square, NY right in the middle of town. We all got sparklers and watched the fireworks explode directly above us. It was definitely a memory that will last a while!
It’s that time of year again… when the whole family comes together, sings songs, and eats lots of food. I tried to document as much as I could in order to keep up my role as the family historian.
We also celebrated my mom’s birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! (p.s. She only looks 40.)
Last weekend, my mom and dad had their first encounter with a Nintendo Wii, and quite the encounter they had. Everyone was lucky that my mom left at least 6 inches between her swinging arm and the front of the TV screen. Although, I do have to admit, that by the end, they were figuring out what they were doing. But enough typing on my end… I’ll let you all decide on your own with the video footage below:
This last weekend was spent with much of my extended family up in San Francisco. It was great seeing everyone and we had a couple things to celebrate–on Saturday night, we celebrated my 22nd birthday (which will be on Thursday), and then on Sunday, my Uncle Marty received the C. Anderson Aldrich Award from the AAP. I was glad that I and so much of the extended family was able to be with him while he received this honor.
My sister, Shana, and Adam had a chance to celebrate their recent wedding with their close friends at a bowling rink in New York. I was lucky enough to get invited and had the opportunity to take many photos throughout the event. Click on the image below to view more photos.
I decided that it was time for a change of pace last weekend, and decided to venture down to Santa Barbara, where I met up with my parents. Click on the image below for more pictures.
It was a very relaxing weekend, which included enjoying the sun on the beach, exploring a city-wide fiesta, renting a movie, going out to dinner, and most importantly celebrating my Dad’s birthday. And as of late, I haven’t gone anywhere without my camera, and this trend did not change on this trip.
I’m about to head off to my sister’s wedding, but before I did, I wanted to share some of the excitement that occurs before the wedding ever begins. Festivities began Wednesday night with an intimate dinner between the two families. Not only was dinner involved, we also managed to fit in a tiny bit of basketball and swimming (and I didn’t even have to push for these things to happen!). Thursday followed with a flurry of preparations–more for my sisters and mom than my Dad and me. Then Friday, people began arriving for the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. I tried to capture as much of all of this as I could on my camera.
In about 30 minutes, my Dad and I will be driving to the wedding to meet up with my sisters and mom. This is going to be an amazing day–details and adventures of the day are to follow sometime in the next week.
What a day! Bright and early on the forth of July, I headed up to Point Reyes to meet up with Julie and George. After having no cell phone reception in Point Reyes Station, we finally found each other (luckily the town was about 2 blocks long), and then we sunscreened and got ready for our hike. We took the Tomales Point Trail all the way to the end, enjoying the scenery, the elk and each other’s company along the way. Both George and I were quite picture happy for most of the journey. Check out the photos!
After a reasonably tiring hike, we were all looking forward to showering and finding a fun place for dinner, and a fun place for dinner we found! It was this small brewery and restaurant named Moylan’s. It definitely hit the spot. If you ever find yourself in Novato, CA, you should check it out.
